~Review Policy~

UrbanFantasyLand.net promotes books and authors primarily in the urban fantasy genre, but also in other sub genres: contemporary fantasy, paranormal romance, futuristic romance, steampunk, gas lamp fantasy, mystery/crime, and young adult.

Sara: My review schedule is currently full. Please check back for updates. At this time, I am accepting Canadian SF/F only (either works by Canadian authors or works set in Canada). If you would like your book reviewed, please keep in mind two things: I have a lot to read so it may be a while before I get to your work, and I don’t like everything I read. Please see the C and DNF Reviews. If neither of these stipulations bother you, please Contact me about a review. If you’d like a post about your book right away, please Contact me about running a Promo post.

Jennifer: I rate books on a 5-star system, where 5= I loved it!, and 1= I really didn’t like it. I prefer print galleys and ARCs, but will accept e-books. If I agree to review a book, I will post a review within the month, but usually it ends up being about 2 weeks later.

Lauren: I prefer e-books, though I’d be willing to read print books. My preferred genres: horror, paranormal, YA, urban fantasy, fantasy, fairy tales, mash-ups.  I don’t care for swords & sorcery or paranormal romances.

I use a five-star system:1 – hated it,2 – didn’t hate it, but it might need some work,3 – liked it,4 – very good,5 – excellent.

Reviews will be geared toward appropriate reading audience and as spoiler-free as possible. Where spoilers need to be discussed, they will be clearly marked. Reviews of new books will be coordinated with release dates.

Reviews will be rated as follows: (click on the links for a list of the reviews to see examples)
A Reviews – Loved it! Would buy it in hardcover!
B Reviews – Liked it. Might even check out more by the author or the next in the series.
C Reviews – Either this book needs a substantial makeover, or I’m really not the right audience for it.
DNF – Did Not Finish
